Holding on…

Determined to keep going,

But my legs aching and fingers slowly slipping,

I couldn’t hold myself up much longer.

I slipped,

And slammed into the wall,

Until my feet hit the ground again,

Back to where I started,

“I can’t do this! I’m too weak!”

“No, no! I have to try again!”

I chalked up my hands,

Quickly gripped on,

And began climbing,

Before I had the chance to change my mind.

You see,

Sometimes all it needs is one go,

Others, multiple hits and falls,

It’s not always easy to reach the top,

But you’ve got to realise in order to succeed,

You’ve got to let go of the belief of not being good enough,

Or simply not being capable.

You’ve got to be willing to fail once,

Or twice,

Or even more,

And acknowledge the achievement that has been made,

Even if you only managed to get one step further,

Always be proud of how far you’ve come.

Are you in control?

There was a time when everything was so loud,

There wasn’t a moment of silence,

Even covering my ears was greatly unhelpful,

I remember times when it got out of hand,

I’d close my eyes and beg for some silence,

But again it would be a failed attempt.

I hated it!!

But now…

There are days when I don’t hear a single sound

It’s completely silent,

So peaceful and relaxing,

Yet sometimes boring,

And sometimes demotivating.

However I now know there are times when I need the sounds,

Not as loud and uncontrolled like before,

But moderate, calm and when needed.

Switched on,

To decode problems andĀ figure out solutions,

To inspire and motivate,

And more importantly to understand myself.

Because it turns out these sounds were the jumbled voices inside my head,

No I’m not crazy… We all have them.

Just some are in control and others are stuck in a complete mess.

Relax, Breathe and Take control.

Make them the solution and not the problem.
